As a speech-pathologist, I love multiple meaning words. Bold and bright both fall into that category. Bold can refer to confidence, risk taking as well as vivid in appearance; while bright indicates many qualities from shining a light, to a clear and vivid color, to intelligence, cheer, early, and hopeful. Wow, imagine living in a way that embodies all of those definitions!
So what do you think of when I say live your boldest and brightest life?
For me, I instantly think of both external and internal characteristics. I am naturally drawn to bold patterns and styles, vivid and bright colors. Every ounce of my life, from my wardrobe to my house reflects this! I think of stepping into each day with a confidence that no matter what obstacles are thrown my way, I have the faith, tools, and skillset to conquer them - and the humility to know when I need help! It symbolizes making meaningful human connections and saying ‘yes’ to as many opportunities as possible. It also means saying ‘no’ respectfully and holding strong to my boundaries. It means being brave, and being willing to fight for what you value, chase your dreams, and do it afraid, when necessary. It means making changes, sacrificing good in exchange for great, and never settling for less than God desires for you in any aspect. It might mean pivoting until you feel like you are out of directions to go! It means always learning and striving for better, investing in yourself, and treating yourself as your own best friend. It means prioritizing yourself, your health and wellbeing; physically and mentally. It means taking risks and having fun with outfits, accessories, and makeup, simply because you can and it makes you smile! Most importantly, to me, it symbolizes a faith and trust in God of knowing who I am and always striving to live in alignment with who he made me to be, while shining my light as far and wide as possible!
It is my dream for every woman (and man!) on this earth to live as boldly and brightly as possible! I challenge you to join me in starting January with purpose, stepping up and stepping into this life you’ve been given.
