How often do you let yourself get truly lost in a good book? This is one way that I measure my opinion of a book - how engrossed do I become, to the point where I forget my current reality. It's honestly scary how frequently it feels like authors are writing my life on paper, or writing a personalized letter to me. I enjoy a wide variety of genres, but in the summer I especially love good beach reads that pull at your heart strings! A few of my recent favorites:
Summer of Songbirds - Kristy Woodson Harvey
An impactful story about friendship over the years; reminiscing about old days while simulataneously finding yourself
The Story Teller - Jodi Picoult
A heart-gripping novel full of historical fiction surrounding WWII; examining how we make life altering decisions and where the line falls between punishment and mercy
Five Star Weekend - Elin Hilderbrand
A hilarious, deep, emotional story about friendship, love, and relationships from various phases of life... and it's set in Nantucket, so added bonus points
Happy Place - Emily Henry
A story about love, friendship, complex emotions, secret revelations, and overall relationships with the ones we love most
My Magnolia Summer - Victoria Benton Frank
Self-discovery is quite a journey, while evaluating priorities, relationships, career aspirations and learning secrets about ones we are closest too
One True Loves - Taylor Jenkins Reid
This book left me with ugly tears! How do you know who your true love is, and do we only have one?
